Sacred Heart College Science Building

To accommodate enrollment growth, Sacred Heart College required a new, purpose-built science building. Watershed was engaged from project inception in 2022 and led the initiative through procurement, design, and construction.

As Project Manager, Watershed led the procurement and coordination of the project team, including the architect, Architectus, sub-consultants, and Quantity Surveyor, BBD.  Watershed oversaw the full design process, including value engineering, and managed all stages of procurement and construction through to completion.

The new science facility includes:

  • 9 specialist teaching laboratories (3 chemistry, 2 physics, 2 general science, 1 biology, and 1 agricultural science)
  • Agricultural courtyard
  • Technician preparation areas
  • Chemical storage
  • Staffroom, workroom and offices
  • Archive room
  • Associated plant and storage spaces

Site works commenced during the April 2024 school holidays, beginning with the demolition of the existing structure and alterations to the adjacent building. The project was completed on 3 October 2025, on schedule and within the approved budget. The total project value was $18,650,000.00.
