Our Proud History

Kris Morris-Vette, together with his wife Wendy, created Watershed, with Kris leading the business for nearly two decades as Managing Director.

Founding Watershed allowed Kris to bring together his extensive experience in project and facility management across educational and local government sectors, along with his well-established reputation as a leader in aquatic facility management. Having worked in both operational and supervisory roles since the mid-1990s, Kris recognised a significant opportunity to improve service delivery across the education and recreation sectors. This insight led to the establishment of Watershed in 2006, driven by a commitment to enhance systems, elevate service standards, and improve client satisfaction.

Kris’s collaborative approach — rooted in the belief that “the brains of many” lead to the best outcomes — became a cornerstone of Watershed’s culture and way of working. His vision and leadership have been pivotal in shaping Watershed into the respected and results-driven organisation it is today.

Together with co-founder Wendy Morris-Vette, who remains actively involved, the Watershed team continues to build on Kris’s legacy. The company’s long-standing and growing client base reflects the consistent delivery, strong values, and passion that Kris instilled from the very beginning.

Kris is deeply missed by both staff and clients, who valued not only his expertise but also his integrity, warmth, and genuine commitment to making a difference. Moe mai rā e te rangatira…

Our People

The Watershed team.

Our diverse team of talented individuals work together in an open, honest environment where everyone is treated equally. We prioritise work-life balance by offering nine-day fortnights and facilities such as in-house mini gym, regular team events, and an open plan workspace. It’s the people that make the difference and that’s why it’s on our logo.

He aha te mea nui tea o? He tangata he tangata he tangata! [What is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people!]

As believers in being honest with our clients and each other, we enjoy an open environment where everyone is treated equally, likes walking in the door in the morning, can speak freely and knows when it’s okay to switch off work mode and be a parent, family member, teammate, athlete, drummer, party guest or just do nothing.
